I adore pretty products. And it seems as if the latest crop of beauty goodies have got something in common – girliness. If charming is the new byword in the travel industry (apparently that’s what gives a hotel/destination the X-Factor), then pastel-hued loveliness tied up with a bow seems to be the way forward for the latest products.
I love E.Coudray‘s products – luxurious quality in wonderfully old-fashioned packaging. The best thing about this Foaming Cream is that, as well as using it as a bubble bath, it can be used in the shower as a body wash so suitable to both tub soakers and shower lovers. It smells heavenly and really leaves your skin soft and scented.
New from Prada is their Prada Candy Shower Gel and Body Lotion. Eye-popping shocking pink packaging come complete with a 1950s-style illustration by legendary illustrator François Berthoud. Just like the Candy fragrance, both products have white musk. Benzoin and caramel notes to give a feminine vanilla-honey scent.
Valentino has also just launched bath and body products to go with its Valentina fragrance which uses extracts of orange flower, jasmine and tuberose. Love the flower appliqués on the bottles and the pale pink hues of the shower gel and cream. The fruity/floral scent leaves you with velvety smooth. Totally Italian…
Talking of which, watch out for the new Salvatore Ferragamo fragrance launching in April. Signorina is all about the delicious with its key notes of red currant, pink pepper and (weird) panacotta. Really cute are the pink grosgrain ribbons on the packaging.
Old-fashioned yet so contemporary is this Mitchell and Peach Body Cream. The 1950s tub is offset with simple, modern typography and leaves you smelling of sweet violet, ylang-ylang and rose. It’s great to find a brilliant British brand. Mitchell and Peach produce all their products from their lavender farm in Kent. It’s so retro dipping into the tub of cream and slathering it on…
Also pretty in pink is Korres pale pink Jasmine Lip Butter, which leaves lips luscious and glossy.
Lastly, worth a mention is Aromatherapy Associates Triple Rose Moisturiser. It has a delicate scent and is gentle on the skin while deeply hydrating. Gives a new meaning to coming up roses!
