Just arrived on my desk is the new offering from Nina Ricci. Nina L’Eau is perfect for those spring days – fresh and fruity, it is wonderfully light and romantic. Designed by Olivier Cresp, who has created all the previous Nina scents, it is packed with fruity notes. Apple blossom is blended with neroli, cherry blended with gardenia and white musk. It’s like a fairytale in a bottle (aptly an apple-shaped one). It feels very contemporary, too – with its sweetness undercut by zingy, citrus notes yet delicately feminine.
“I wanted to create the impression of a cascade of cool water,” Cresp has said, in that way that only perfumers can. And, yes, we all need to be swept away from time to time.
