Spring in my step

Yesterday, despite the biting cold, was a colourful day of gorgeous Spring/Summer collections.

First port of call was Billionaire Couture. The ‘extreme’ luxury Italian brand’s inspiration was the West Coast of America, so beautifully crafted shirts, blazers and accessories came in prints influenced by Arizona’s Grand Canyon and Midwest. Punchy colours, stunning jewelled crystal buttons and python and alligator prints in cashmere and silk were just the ticket for your average Oligarch’s wardrobe. The women’s range, albeit smaller, will not disappoint those lucky fashionistas with deep pockets. Skyscraper heels in inky blue exotic skins and rainbow-hued clutches were stand-out pieces. While the signature black tuxedo jacket with oversized black crystal button was something I’ll lust after forever (if only I had a premiere to go to!).

From silk dressing gowns to ‘to-die-for’ butter-soft bags in python and alligator – this is a one-stop shop for the tycoon about town. In fact, the brand is the brainchild of Flavio Briatore, whose attention to detail is second-to-none, and who has created a wardrobe seemingly for his sartorially-savvy peer group. Racy.

Secondly, no less lovely but a little more within my budget, was Clarkes uplifting Spring Summer Collection.

Gorgeous sandals, heels and accessories were on display and the new Orla Kiely collaboration is genius – especially love the 70s influenced Orla Marianne navy/cream patent platforms.

But the real highlights for me were Clarks own gorgeous summery brogues and bags. On my wish list? the sage green Tailor Cut leather tote (£99.99), the Take Thai tan leather over-body bag (£49.99) and Gin Crush white and silver ballerina-meets-brogue (£44.99). Yes, please!
