It’s Christmas Countdown time!

It’s back! My annual Festive Gift Guide, in which I feature one gorgeous beauty product each day as little gift ideas for you and your loved ones, starts today. Specially chosen because of their affordability, prettiness and downright ‘must-have’ qualities, I will be bringing to you one sumptuous tried and tested treat each day right up to 24 December.

Today, we start with Woods of Windsor Fine English Soap Collection, £11.25.

There’s something about a box of soaps that I find irresistible and so very Christmas. I love buying boxes of sumptuously wrapped and colourfully-hued tablets of soap and love receiving them too. (Plus: insider beauty secret – you may think the bar of soap as terribly old-fashioned, but actually they are making a come-back with beauty aficionados returning to them because of their simplicity and practicality.)

In fact, unlike those bars of soap you used to find under your Christmas tree from a distant aunt (no doubt), these little lovelies are of the finest quality, full of premium ingredients that won’t dry out your skin. They gently lather and leave skin delicately fragranced and surprisingly soft. The four candy-coloured rounds are scented with True Rose, Lavender, Lily of the Valley and White Jasmine and look so pretty (almost too good to use) in their whimsically illustrated box.

Woods of Windsor is one of our great British beauty brands – there’s something nostalgic and vintage about its products, which make them – ironically – so very now. Originating from an 18th century apothecary, beside Windsor Castle, the brand is renowned for its natural beauty goodies. A gorgeous little box of treats – perfect for a female friend or relative, they have been inspired by the wildness and charm of a quintessential English country garden, and have been triple milled using the finest raw materials.
