Another day, another idea on my Christmas Countdown and the time is ticking.
Stuck for a little gift for someone special, then pop down to your local Oxfam. This pretty vintage-inspired wash bag from Monsoon’s exclusive range for Oxfam, £6.99 (small), £9.99 (large) is hand-finished by artisan producers in India.
Not only was this cute cosmetic case made by Monsoon in collaboration with women’s cooperatives in India, to generate livelihoods, it is also one of the prettiest I have seen.
It is made out of soft cotton with a retro 70s print and has a lovely, old-fashioned quality feel. It is very much one of my favourite finds this season. Might be finding it under my own tree!
Oxfam may not be the first shop you have in mind for last-minute presents – but do nip in if you are passing one over the next few days. It really does have a lovely range of responsibly sourced items. Many products support small-scale farmers or social enterprises and use sustainable materials to help reduce the environmental impact. What’s more, the money raised is used to help Oxfam’s vital work fighting poverty around the world.
Beauty with a conscience. Christmas deed done good.
