Today, to much festive joy, it’s time to launch my annual Christmas Beauty Gift Guide. For the third year running, I’ll be featuring daily ideas for gifts – all around a beauty theme for the beauties in your life.
Day 1: L’Occitane’s Arlésienne
New for Christmas is L’Occitane’s Arlésienne range of products. The collection – which includes an Eau de Toilette, Shower Cream, Beauty Milk, Hand Cream, Soap and Body Oil is based on floral notes and is meant to be based on a mysterious, legendary woman from Arles, in the south of France.
Perfect for gifts – the Shower Cream, £14, is creamy and leaves the body fresh and scented. While the Eau de Toilette, £39, is a lovely, light scent based on three floral notes of saffron flower (peppery), rose (enhanced by lily of the valley) and violet (which gives a sensuous white wood note).
What I love about these products, especially the limited edition Hair Mist and Beautifying Powder, is the fact that they are channelling a charming old-fashioned sense of beauty (very 1930s) yet they are thoroughly modern in the bright and uplifting floral scent. It’s such a delight to find a different, appealing scent – that is affordable – and which doesn’t have a mass-market, synthetic smell.
Legendary the woman of Arles may be, but it’s also perfect for the legend in your life.
