Sun is shining and life is looking sweet. Reflecting this sugary sentiment are a trio gorgeous beauty products that have landed on my desk.
Take Nina Ricci‘s latest limited edition fragrance, for instance. Les Délices de Nina is inspired by the ultimate candy shop, bought to life in classic stories and fairytales – think Hansel and Gretel and Alice in Wonderland.
The fluoro pink apple and shiny gold top (to reflect golden caramel) bottle has a unique ‘soft touch’ texture and aims to replicate that covetable feel we get in a sweet shop. The fragrance itself has been created by Marie Salamagne and Olivier Cresp, the Master Perfumer behind the Nina collection of fragrances. It has an innovative strawberry candy accord at its heart mixed with top notes of tangy lemon and tangerine. White caramel, gardenia, praline and white musk combine together to create a sweet yet sophisticated scent. Luminous and ever so tempting.
Next, are the latest offerings from one of my fave brands Korres. The Water Lily collection – a shower gel and body milk – has a fresh, delicate scent inspired by wild flowers. This beauty label is seriously underrated I think. The price points are so affordable for very top-end quality products.
In particular, I love Korres’ shower gels, £8, they are rich and sumptuous to use (and they feel much more expensive than they actually are) and deeply hydrate the skin (due to the wheat proteins they contain). The body milk, £10, meanwhile, is enriched with vitamins, almond oil, active aloe and shea butter to give long-lasting hydration and to keep skin supple. Both of these are great for travelling. Check out the ‘sweet-like’ palette on the packaging of lilac, soft greens and pale blue. Available to buy online from Debenhams.com
Finally, my sugar fix ends with Heyland & Whittle Jasmine & Lilac Candle, £24, and super-cute Rose Soap Bar, £4.99. The Heyland & Whittle Brand was launched by husband and wife team Paddy Heyland and Ursula Whittle in 2003. The collection of products are inspired by their original location on a farm in rural Surrey. The company produces a range of handmade soaps in the traditional cold-processed method, using only tnatural ingredients. Essential oils, herbs and spices are combined to create a sulphate and paraben-free range.
The candle is made from 100% pure soy sustainable wax which burns cleanly to give a natural fragrance. The Jasmine & Lilac scent is also blended with lavender, summer berries, oranges and lemons to give a deep, summery smell, which is gorgeous and evokes the quintessential English garden.
