A body scrub might not be the most obvious choice of Christmas present, but (drum roll please) this is no ordinary scrub. Sabon’s Timeless Spark Body Spark, £22, is such a little find that I think any self-confessed beauty junkie, friend and loved one will adore this under the tree. It contains sea salt enriched with natural oils and vitamin E, use it once and you’ll be hooked. The scrub comes in a cute, vintage-style jar and so looks very pretty on your bathroom shelf. The very fine particles are drenched in sweet-smelling oil and it goes on like a dream. Best of all, skin is left unbelievably smooth and silky. Dead skin cells and imperfections are removed and sloughed off giving the body a luminous appearance.

It really is very good. What’s more,  its festive packaging and luxury-look pot actually combines to make the perfect little present to find under the tree – and one that will be thankfully received, no doubt.

The dead sea salt scrub is, in fact, one of Sabon’s hero products and this version – with its claret red label and gold trimmings – comes as one of the line-up making up the Christmas range, inspired by the Far East and scented with a limited-edition perfume called Timeless Spark. The fragrance is a mix of citrus, patchouli and musk elevating the scrub further to a full-on spa treatment in a jar. Sabon’s ethos is to bring the spa experience to the home and all of its products are paragon-free, showcasing a range of natural ingredients sourced from the Amazon and minerals from the Dead Sea. Let the holiday season begin!
