Mamma Mia: Baylis & Harding does pretty perfectly

IMG_9081This Perfect Pamper Set gift box, £18, from Baylis & Harding’s Skin Spa Flower Therapy range is so gorgeous as a token of love for Mother’s Day that I am loathe to part with it. What’s making me feel so naughty? First of all are the ‘bumper’ sizes of products you find within the box (as opposed to the usual ‘half-size’ products and lots of surplus packaging that you often get in gift sets), then there’s the newly launched Spring fragrance from the brand – Patchouli and Pink Peppermint – which smells sensual yet invigorating.

The popping pink-and-white coloured bottles will look glam on any bathroom shelf. Love the nice big sizes of the Body Cleanser and Bath Milk, too, with a little going a long way. Use both, together with the pretty floral-inspired sponge, and skin will be squeaky clean and soft to touch, especially if your Mamma is encouraged to take time for a long, deep soak. The fragrance has notes of bergamot, patchouli and amber so there’s a deep heart to it, while the peppermint top notes uplift the senses. Really unusual but deeply feminine.

As you’d expect from the brand that has mass appeal – Mums, Grandmas and beauty junkies simply love Baylis & Harding – the packaging is bright and cheerful with its gold-on-candy-pink hues.

The gift set has been designed to give a pamper session in a box – so encourage your special person to chill out in a tub filled decadently to the top with the Bath Milk (tell her to be generous for a luxury feel, simply run under the tap), gently cleanse skin with the Body Cleanser and Rose Sponge (which mildly exfoliates). After a soak, it’s then time to hydrate limbs with the Rich Intensive Body Butter. It vanishes nicely and leaves skin velvety smooth. Use lavishly on elbows, knees and feet to get rid of rough, dry skin.

Despite the fact you’ll want to keep it, do give it away (!) – unless you’re a mum yourself, of course. In which case, you have my full blessing! After all, it’s the ideal gift for any mum to say thanks for everything they do/you do. Treat yourself or treat her. Here’s a little nod to say thank you to Mammas everywhere.

Available at Asda and Tesco.
