Pretty pastels: the best in soft beauty

For those wanting to channel the pastel hair look, just in time for festival season, grab a bottle of one of these temporary colour formulas. Pretty in pink or blossoming in blue? You decide…

Crazy Colour‘s Capri Blue, £6.49, for instance, will give a pop of blue to your hair. Some readers may remember this brand first time around, from the 70s, when it was the hair colour to use at home. The semi-permanent hair colour comes in 13 vibrant shades and gives a bright impact – that gradually fades – making it ideal for summer months. Use all over or on separate strands, for a more subtle effect. From salon-services.com

Pimps & Pinups’ High Voltage Hair Pop Paint, £7.99, meanwhile comes in seven intense shades and sprays on for high pigment colour. The non-permanent formula can be washed out (it dries in seconds) and the Panther Pink shade gives a bright injection of pink to your locks. Perfect for changing hair moods. From asos.com

Adding a blush of pink to your complexion, meanwhile, is Lierac’s Hydragenist Moisturising Serum, £33. The pretty pink, hydration booster plumps skin and smooths out wrinkles and is a versatile first step in your skin prep.

Based around rose water, jasmine and gardenia, the formula also smells divine, which I love. The brand is known for its use of the best botanical active ingredients in its high-performance products, and this has an immediate effect – giving a freshness to the complexion. The serum also uses fruit AHAs to minimise the appearance of lines and skin is left naturally radiant and refined. I’ve been using it day and night under my usual moisturiser and my skin looks and feels in tip-top condition.  From lookfantastic.com

Finally, I’d also like to give a mention to Korres‘ new Almond Cherry range. Its Body Milk, £10, and Shower Gel, £8, are not strictly ‘pastels’, but the cherry theme is fitting to my pink-hued product round-up.

Sweet almonds and fresh cherries are the inspiration behind the soft scent of this summery collection. First of all, drench skin with the shower gel, which deep cleanses and contains wheat proteins to protect and hydrate. Follow up with the mood-lifting body milk, enriched with vitamins, almond oil, active aloe, provitamin B5 and shea butter, for lustrous limbs. It sinks in quickly and has a velvety texture, which is lovely to use. Perfect for exposing skin to all elements. From marksandspencer.com
