Lip service: new products to shout about

I’ve been loving all the new lip launches that have been arriving on my desk – think luscious lipsticks, inky lip-stains, and silky lip-crayons – and as a result I’ve been curating a new lip-focused look (matt face, nude eyelids, slick of mascara and popping lips).

First up, and ideal for a bold look, is Mua Luxe‘s brand new Inked Lip Stains, £4. The vibrant shades give a wonderful swoosh of colour – and look fab against tanned or dark skin – and, best of all, they last for ages. It’s an easy-to-apply, non-sticky formula and gives a deep, high density colour. It also goes on smoothly so you don’t get patches of stained areas, like many other long-lasting lipsticks, and also seems to stay smooth and satiny. I’m loving the bright red – Maraschino – and bold orange – Tropicana – shades. The price point also means you can pick up a few of these and have fabulous holiday hues in an instant. Also from Mua Luxe – a fabulous affordable make-up brand (if you haven’t discovered it yet – click on the link below NOW) – are these new Vivid Colour Intense Lipsticks, £3. Coming in a range of pinks to reds – which are ideal for summer – they are also dramatic and striking, but have a slightly different texture to the Inked Stains. They give a silky-smooth, nourishing feel and last even after eating and drinking. Yummy! From: muastore.co.uk

Sensai’s Silk Design Rough Lip Crayons, £28, also focus on the red palette (it’s the lip shade of the moment). Ranging from rosy-pinks to fiery crimsons, all the six reds in the collection are eminently flattering. Almost like a lip balm, the crayon glides on easily and the thin point means it can be used almost like a liner first, before filling in lips. Super sophisticated, all you need to do is pout and go. Finally, are these gorgeous lip ‘stix’ from Ciaté. The Pretty Stix, £16, come in 10 shades (pinks, corals and reds) and are made with Brazilian Murumuru butter, which nourish and soothes dry lips. The result are lipstick-balm hybrids with a powerful pigment and a nice shine finish. These are great if, like me, you need to keep lips moisturised during the day. These do that and more – so that you have a continual ‘groomed’ and ‘finished’ look and at the same time lips are nourished. I also love the kisses design on the tube, which is so appealing. Lip-smackingly lovely. From: ciatelondon.com
