Sleep talk: overnight beauty

Forget renewing your pillows or sleeping on silk pillowcases, you can even forget those early nights. Swipe on By Terry’s Cellulose Liftessence Night Cream, £120, and you’ll have the best night’s sleep you’ll ever get (or, rather, you’ll look like you did).

This is such treat. The pretty lilac cream uses the essence of ruby rose ‘native cells’ – the extract of the plant that has skin firming and lifting properties. It has a balm-like texture that you need to warm slightly in your hands so that it sinks instantly into the skin – and, boy, it feels thoroughly nourishing and soothing. While you sleep, it gets to work boosting skin cell activity and ensuring optimal tissue regeneration. The next morning, when you wake, skin looks rested and dewy.

It has a lovely buttery, creamy feel to it, and overall it acts to repair and tone the complexion. The results are that the complexion begins to feel toned and lifted and velvety to touch. It’s an indulgent over-night treatment, and you wake up looking well-rested and radiant with a ‘plump’, youthful glow.

As well as the hero ingredient of rose, it also contains extract of night jasmine which works on skin’s firmness, while hyaluronic acid attracts and retains up to 1000 times its own weight in water – swelling the cells to promote skin’s plumpness.

While we are on the subject of night treats, I’ve also been using this Skin Rejuvenating Eye Mask by Iluminage, £25.

This is such a genius idea. Not only does the ultra-soft silky mask shut out the world so you can get a peaceful sleep, but it has also been infused with copper oxide fibres to fight wrinkles when your eyes are closed. When in contact with skin, copper ions are transferred to promote natural cell renewal, making sure you get all the beauty sleep you need.

It’s fab for travelling or just to use overnight – an easy way to fight the signs of ageing. From:
