If ‘effortlessly pretty’ is your thing and and old-style femininity floats your boat, then stock up and indulge in Paul & Joe‘s floral-embossed make-up collection for Spring 2017. As usual with Paul & Joe, the packaging will seduce you with its pastel shades, whimsical prints and hand-drawn motifs and delicate florals. You’ll want the whole collection.

Ideal for a flawless, nude face, with a touch of radiance, is the Moisturising Foundation Primer L, £23. It goes on like a dream (I’ve been using it over a base coat of either serum or light moisturiser) and gives an instant brightening effect. I also love the glass, flower-emblazoned bottle – straight out of the 1950s.

The prep-product is enriched with a blend of botanical extracts, including the same amount of Korean ginseng extract found in hydrating serums, vitamins and floral waters so it feels uber luxurious, yet gentle and kind to the skin. The overall effect is that it revives dry, dull skin with its moisturising properties and gives the complexion an instant lift with its subtle glow-giving qualities.

How does it do this? Well, it is enriched with lavender pearls (can this get any more girly?), which enhance skin tone and give a touch of brilliance. Brightening and moisturising, the primer spreads smoothly over the skin. It banishes dullness, optimises light reflection so skin has a translucence to it and lifts so your face looks smooth and even. You can use it under your foundation or by itself for a sculpting effect. It also has a SPF18 so it’s also great protector against the elements.

Described as make-up for ‘love and romance’ is the brand’s pink-hued Face & Eye Colours, £25. Seen here is Mon Petit Chat. So cute, you won’t want to touch it. But go ahead: it’s worth it. The candy pink and baby pink shades are contrasted with silver and pearl for a sweet pop of colour on the cheeks or lids. Very pretty.

The powder’s bright colour is more subtle than it looks and it comes with a gorgeous little velvety soft applicator with satin bow. The dual-purpose powders are enriched with orange flower water, white lily extract and jojoba oil so they are soft and kind for all skin types (even sensitive ones).

To add a touch of definition, drench lashes with Paul & Joe’s Mascara Duo N. It is a two step mascara, which lengthens and defines lashes. The water-resistant, black shade gives definition and gloss, lashes are lengthened and separated but do not appear ‘clumpy’ – just a better version of natural. Simple, quick and easy.

Lastly, are these gorgeous Eye Colour Trios, £23, which have delicate, shimmery colours and a velvety creamy texture which melts into lids. The silver-bronze-black combination is ideal for nighttime and you can add layers to build up definition or use a single colour as a pop of colour or shot of liner across the lid.

The gold-copper-shimmery brown combo, meanwhile, is ideal for day-time – blend the colours together for a metallic sheen or use separately for a touch of shimmer and slick of gilding to lids. The refills fit into floral- and bird-printed compacts which can be bought separately Gorgeous.
