I’ve long been a fan of method‘s eco-conscious and stylish home products. Made with naturally derived biodegradable ingredients and recycled packaging, I’ve been swiping down my surfaces with the brand’s cleaners for a while.
Now, putting the style into my sink-side, is the brand’s latest limited edition launch. The Rose Gold Collection of four home and beauty products comes with a metallic, high-shine finish, in a gorgeous rose-gold-copper colour-way, combined with a geometric pattern – straight out of the pages of Elle Deco. The result is that the usually functional products we all have to have in our homes, suddenly have an elevated, uber-stylish status, which you won’t want to hide away.
Blurring the lines between household product or household accessory, method’s Rose Gold Collection adds a touch of luxury to the home, giving even the most laborious tasks – such as washing up – an added element of stylish satisfaction.
The Washing-up Liquid, £3.50, will have you saying ‘yes’ to hand washing your dirty plates and ‘no’ to the dishwasher. For germaphobes, like myself, this little gem means that you don’t have to hide your practical cleaner away in a cupboard, but instead can let it take pride of place beside the sink, and just in reach whenever you need it. Not just a pretty face, it is made of a natural, biodegradable formula, and works hard to get rid of grease and food, so crockery and glassware is left sparkling clean.
The Multi-Surface Cleaner, £3.50, meanwhile, is another gem and just the thing for bringing out the best in your granite, tiles or wood. It gives your kitchen a touch of panache, leaving surfaces sparkling clean with no residue or streaky marks. Spritz it on, swipe it off and you’re done.
method’s formula, made of corn and coconut, is kind to the environment (and you), meaning grease and grime are banished. Plus the products in the range have an added layer of sparkle with their uplifting Pink Pomelo fragrance, made of lemon zest, juicy pomelo (grapefruit’s sweeter sis), freesia and amber notes. topped off with pink peppercorns for warmth and spice. (This reads more like I’m describing a perfume than a kitchen cleaner!)
As well as the home cleaners, there are a choice of two hand washes all with the same matching fragrance. The Foaming Hand Wash, £3.50, cleans hands with its soft, non-toxic bubbles. This is my favourite with one whoosh giving enough foam to instantly clean away grime, leaving hands fresh and soft. While the Gel Hand Wash, £3, is the updated version of the classic signature product from method, working its magic on hands they are left hydrated and softly scented.
The new range may look and feel luxe – but the brand has remained true to its roots, with its affordable price points. The modern design, marine scent uplifted with freesia, and eco-friendly approach (the brand always uses non-toxic ingredients and 100% recycled plastic) means you can clean away to your hearts content using products with substance and style.
The brand new limited edition collection made its debut in Selfridges in January 2018, and is now available in Tesco, John Lewis, Ocado and Sainsbury’s.
