Korres new launches bring out the sunshine

by angelinavc

There’s nothing like a bit of sunshine to get you in the mood for holiday dreaming. Korres – one of my favourite brands – has a collection of products which seem to burst with the sun and which are the ideal travel companions for when you head off to exotic climes. Inspired by ancient Greek apothecary recipes, it remains true to its Mediterranean roots, yet always innovative.

It has two new launches for the summer season, launching this month: a zingy Ginger Lime range and a Bergamot and Jasmine scent (all available from: feelunique.com)

Both fragrances are available in a Shower Gel, £8, and Body Milk, £10, as part of the brand’s body care collection. The Ginger Lime is sexily sharp and instantly uplifting. Meanwhile, the second scent is more tropical in feel with its blend of jasmine and fresh bergamot. It has pretty floral notes which are entirely feminine.

Korres’ shower gels last a lifetime – a little goes a long way – and have a velvety texture, which cleans and refreshes, yet feels utterly pampering. The body milk is also satisfyingly ‘weighty’ and not ‘thin’ like some body milks can be. It sinks in to drench limbs and body with hydrating goodness.

With its moisturising wheat proteins and Althea extract, which help maintain skin’s natural moisture levels, the shower gel is kind to even sensitive skins. Korres has its roots in Athens’ first ever Homeopathic Pharmacy and is dedicated to using natural and organic ingredients.

The body milk is also enriched with moisturising almond oil, active Aloe and provitamin B5 to aid the skin’s suppleness and to give a nice sheen. The first Korres product was, in fact, an aromatic herbal syrup with honey and aniseed, a recipe inspired by “rakomelon”, a warming spirit with honey concoction, which George Korres’ grandfather used to favour in his hometown on the island of Naxos.

The modern-day brand was set up in 1996 with the aim of utilising its extensive scientific resources for the development of clinically effective and safe products. Whether you pack them on your next journey or simply use them at home, they are guaranteed to transport you to a sun-drenched place.
