The brand’s newest product – Elevate Advanced Retinol Serum – adds a final powerful boost to skin quality and also contains green algae, but this time as ‘algae encapsulated retinol’. Here comes the science bit: it’s a type of system whereby green algae is used to protect the retinol from oxidization, increasing the stability and allowing for a gradual release of retinol. By controlling the release timing of pure stable retinol, skin irritation is significantly reduced, so unlike most retinols, the formula is gentle enough to use every day* and every night on all skin types.

The formula contains a high-concentration of Algenist’s patented Alguronic Acid – naturally sourced and sustainably produced from algae (be warned: that when using retinol, it may increase your skin’s sensitivity to the sun, so you need to wear SPF).
