The invisible act: the new generation sun protectors

by angelinavc

This will be the first thing I pack for my next summer trip. So good, you wonder why nobody has thought of it before now. Just launched from Garnier is its Ambre Solaire UV Water SPF 30 Sun Protection, £14, (from Boots.com) – a new generation sun ‘cream’, with a water-like texture. It does away with greasy-feeling lotions and heavy creams, and gives a refreshing, hydrating feel while protecting the skin against dangerous sun rays.

You simply shake it up – it has a biphasic formula which needs to be mixed before applying – and the fresh formula, which conditions skin and, best of all, has an invisible finish, spritzes on for instant protection. It is also enriched with aloe vera water, so it has a lovely cooling effect – light and refreshing. Just what you need for long days in the sun.

And after you’ve spent a day soaking up the rays, make sure you also use one of the new Garnier Ambre Solaire After-Sun Tissue Mask, £2.99, (from Boots.com).

This cooling after-sun tissue mask is a new answer to a typical cooling after-sun cream. Adjust it to the contours of the face, and after 15 minutes, slowly remove it, and gently massage in any excess serum. It relieves tight-feeling skin, with a soothing and hydrating action. The ultra-thin tissue is infused with a formula enriched with witch hazel and hyaluronic acid that leaves the skin feeling revitalised and nourished. Skin feels re-plumped and your suntan looks more luminous.
