If you’ve already heard of The Hero Project, then, congratulations, you are a bona fide beauty buff. The indie British beauty label has been making waves with ‘those in the know’ due to its coveted, line-up of innovative beauty must-haves, which are all completely Vegan and Vegetarian-friendly.
Now, taking it from cult to consumer, and bringing the brand to the masses, is our good, old faithful M&S which has just announced it will be stocking the label in flagship Marks & Spencer stores and online at marksandspencer.com.
The new British beauty concept from UK cosmetics superlab, Pangaea, The Hero Product’s ethos is simple: “We aim for every product in the range to be a HERO product. We are on a mission to rewrite the rules and to re-set expectations of beauty.”
In translation, this means that you’ll discover a range of products that look good, are convenient to use and which can easily be slotted into your current regime. What’s more, while they don’t cost a fortune, they do use cutting-edge, scientifically-proven ingredients in modern textures that feel great on your skin and deliver visible results.
One such gem is Glow Drops, a scented, dry-touch facial oil made with 10 essential oils and vitamin C. With an ultra-silky texture, you put 2-3 drops into your hands and gently massage the oil into your face, neck and upper chest using light upward strokes.
I’ve been using the oil on a clean, bare face, as the first step in my morning routine. If you have dry skin, you can follow up with a layer of moisturiser. It is non-greasy, and vanishes into the skin. Best of all, it seems to add an immediate touch of brightness as well as an ‘injection’ of nourishment and is particularly effective to revive the complexion if you haven’t slept well, feel tired or stressed (the scent alone will uplift you).
As well as lipid Vitamin C, it contains a blend of essential oils: geranium, orange, rose otto, cedarwood, marjoram, lemon, grapefruit, vetiver oil, bergamot oil, carrot seed and hemp seed, Argan and Inca oils. Containing no parabens, sulphates, minerals or alcohol, it feels wholesome and beneficial to the skin, and with no animal testing, it feels good for the soul, too. Magic!
