Masquerade fun for summer: Garnier’s skincare masks

by angelinavc

There’s nothing like a ‘targeted’ mask to pep up your complexion. Summer skin can become dehydrated, pores can become clogged with all the additional sun-care products we use, and with more exposure to sun, sea and wind, skin can need some extra TLC. Garnier’s collection of tissues masks covers all areas and are brilliant additions to your holiday kit.

Garnier’s Ambre Solaire After Sun Cooling Face Sheet Mask, £2.50, is just the thing for using after a day in the sun.
It has a soothing effect to recharge the skin with hydration after sun exposure. The ultra-thin tissue is infused with witch hazel and hyaluronic acid that leaves the skin feeling revitalised and nourished. Skin feels replumped and suntan looks more luminous. you simply leave it on for 15 minutes, and the serum-like formula steeps into the skin leaving it super-hydrated (in fact, one mask has the equivalent of five applications of facial moisturiser).

The Garnier SkinActive Ultra Lift Tissue Mask, £3.99, meanwhile, targets the signs of ageing – such as dullness and lack of firmness. Spread it over the face and after 15 minutes, skin looks smoother and more radiant. Inspired by the new generation of masks emerging from Korea, it is is infused with Grape Seed Extract and Hyaluronic Acid and leaves the skin feeling firmer and fresher. It’s like an instant ‘pick-me-up’ for the face.

This Glow Shot mask, £3.99. is one of my favourites. A ‘DIY’ mix-it-yourself shot mask, its appeal lies in its ‘chemistry’ action as well as the results it gives. In one section is a hydrating formula, enriched with vitamin C, and separately in the other section is an ultra-absorbent, dry algae tissue mask, waiting to be infused. Mix it up and the tissue is transformed into a soft gel with a bouncy cushion texture that perfectly fits to the face to replump the skin with moisture. It leaves the skin looking brighter and skin complexion looking more even.

Using the same ethos, the Replumping Shot Mask, £3.99, is just the thing to energise skin after a holiday in the sun. It has a hydrating formula, enriched with hyaluronic acid, and separately in the other section is an ultra-absorbent, dry algae tissue mask, waiting to be infused. Once mixed together, the mask transforms into a cushion texture that replumps the skin with moisture and leave the skin softer and supple.

If you’ve had a long flight and are feeling frazzled, make sure you use Garnier’s Moisture Bomb Eye Tissue Mask, £2.99. Aimed at tired eyes, it is enriched with coconut water and hyaluronic acid and will refresh and leave the skin looking firmer and feeling revitalised. It reduces the appearance of fine lines and the eye area feels replumped and tighter. It is also perfect for hot climates as it has a skin cooling effect – after use of the tissue mask, skin temperature is reduced by up to 4°C – made even better if you keep it in the fridge.

Finally, is the Garnier’s Moisture Bomb Eye Tissue Mask, £2.99, enriched with orange juice. It targets tired and dull eye contours, with the orange juice and hyaluronic leaving the eye area looking brighter, more refreshed and more awake.
