This little multi-tasking gem has become my new travelling companion, not to mention my go-to when at home. Doing lots of travel writing means being ‘on the road’ a fair bit and I am increasingly trying to cut down the amount of ‘stuff’ I take with me. Cowshed’s Wonder Balm is the perfect solution as it doubles, trebles, quadruples, even, (ok, you get the picture) to cover a multitude of beauty ‘jobs’.
Containing a rich cocktail of botanical ingredients, such as Kahai Nut Oil, avocado butter and Sea Buckthorn Seed Oil, the soft balm works to moisturise the face, or dry patches on the body, counteracts dry or chapped lips and even can be used as an overnight hair treatment (massage it into split ends and hair is revived come morning). I also use it as a hand ‘cream’ – working it into nails and cuticles.
Use it with a muslin cloth, and it will remove make-up, and as the formula magically dissolves into a light oil, meaning you can also use it as a massage oil. What can’t it do?! Best of all, it is super-kind to the skin – the wonder ingredient is cold-pressed Kahai Oil, which is rich in Vitamins E and F and retinol for an anti-ageing boost. Avocado butter and antioxidant-rich Daikon Oil, meanwhile, will soften and improve skin texture, while jasmine and rose essential oils have balancing and calming properties as well as leaving skin gently scented. Gorgeous!
As well as the 50ml tub, £38, there is also a 15ml size available, £12, which is ideal for all beauty needs when away. Cowshed is renowned for its natural beauty products, all made in England, and this latest launch has become my little home-grown hero.
