Welcome to the first post of the festive season and my favourite time of year. I love collating all these gorgeous little finds that, not only make ideal presents, but also are just perfect for adding a festive touch to your own home or a beauty must-have you just can’t part with.
One of my favourite go-to brands for presents and affordable beauty buys is Baylis & Harding and I’ve got my eye on these two festive ‘fire and ice’ buys so much that I am not sure I will be giving these away!
Add this Limited Edition Hand Wash (£2,from Sainsburys or Asda) to your bathroom to give a sense of cheer for Christmas time. Midnight Fig & Pomegranate is the scent and it is deep, dark and wintery. Leaving hands soft and hydrated, this is a wonderful seasonal addition to the home – and indeed, would make for a great stocking filler, too. I’ll be accessorising it with a soft towel festooned with Christmas livery.
As well as the quality crimson-red packaging – accentuated with gold bursts of writing and illustration – this soap also feels luxurious to use. What’s more, it will last for ages, even if you have a house full of guests.
The Festive Candle with Christmas Tree Lid (£13.50 from Ocado) is another fabulous edition and contrasts nicely with the hand wash with its opposing white-snow tones. I love lighting candles on a winter’s evening, and this one has a Mandarin and Grapefruit scent that fills a room full of joy.
Christmas is such a busy time for everyone, but this year, I am going to make sure that I take a moment – or two – for myself – curled up with a good book or movie, lights dimmed, candle lit. After all, here’s no place like home.
