Candles, bubbles and bath bombs… it’s the little things that will say ‘I love you’, this Christmas

Light a candle, run a bath, add a bit of fizz…. it’s these tiny gestures that whisper ‘home’, that tell someone you love them, that create those cosy memories on the dark nights of winter… and these products are also the ones which make for the perfect stocking fillers.

Baylis & Harding has long been my ‘go-to’ for what I call ‘gesture’ gifts – those little, affordable presents that say ‘I’ve thought of you’ and this Christmas the British brand has come up trumps again with a lovely line-up of goodies. This Fuzzy Duck Sloe Gin Cocktail Candle (£15 from Next and Amazon), for instance, is the next best thing to cocktails with the girls. It comes in a gorgeous, garnet-coloured glass jar with gold lid and is inspired by the scent of Sloe Gin made at Baylis & Harding’s very own boutique inn in the Cotswolds: The Fuzzy Duck.

In reality, it smells rich and fruity and is the perfect way to scent the home this festive time, not to mention an ideal gift for the party animal in your life (who perhaps actually might like a night in cosying up at home!) The candle burns for ages with a smell that lingers even after you’ve blown it out – it’s full of Christmas cheer.

Another gorgeous gift idea is this Fuzzy Duck Winter Wonderland Festive Bath Bubbles Bauble (£6 from Boots). It’s a ‘bubble bath’ all wrapped up in a Christmas Pudding-themed bauble (just how many Christmas references can you get into one product? – Love!).

Add a few drops of the bubble essence under running water, and a soft foam will develop so they can soak their cares away. It’s so cute and is fragranced with an indulgent – and very festive – mulberry and mistletoe scent. The perfect stocking filler or Secret Santa gift!

Let’s not forget the men in our lives with this Fuzzy Duck Whiskey Bath Bubbles (£8 from Sainsbury’s and Asda). It comes in a retro-styled bottle – which is huge (so it is really good quality for money).

I really like the brown-coloured bottle, which is reminiscent of fine whiskey packaging, and the cute Union Jack ‘bow tie’. The formula is rich and decadent and give a deep cleanse with an invigorating scent. Such a great mini present – they might not be able to drink it, but they can savour in it, like a fine whiskey! It’s the next best thing…

If you have a teenager in the house, then this pastel-coloured fantasia gift set will surely be a hit. The Beauticology Unicorn Rainbow Fizzers (£15 from Asda and Morrisons) is packed with rainbow-hued bath bombs and a tub of pretty bath salts. It’s saccharine-sweet.

Each of the five pastel Bath Fizzers are scented with confectionary-themed fragrances: Ice Cream Sundae, Vanilla Ice, Unicorn Candy, Mint Choc Chip and Cookies & Cream. Ideal so they can release their inner unicorn! Shopping done, for everyone. You’re welcome!
