On the road: Nature’s Kitchen is food for your skin

by angelinavc

These gorgeous mini products from organic skincare range, Nature’s Kitchen, will become part of my essential travel kit – once I get back ‘on the road’ , that is! (All my usual travel is currently halted for obvious reasons!)

These little gems, however, elevate the usual mini products you find for travelling, from bog-standard to super-enriching, to really help skin look its best. Nature’s Kitchen products use pure, natural ingredients that you might ordinarily find on an organic food menu. “Our ethos is simple. Do not put anything on your skin that you wouldn’t put in your mouth,” says the brand. “Think skin food.”

The brand launched over 10 years and at its ethos is founded in the belief that healthy skin equals healthy eating, too. “You cannot get flawless skin if you eat manufactured processed foods any more than you can get healthy skin if you only use manufactured chemical products,” says the company.

Inspiration, therefore, is from the natural world of healthy, organic fruits, vegetables, herbs and spices to create end products that not only work well with the skin, but allow it to naturally heal and replenish. All the ingredients, raw materials and packaging used are 100% sourced from UK businesses, and all products are handmade in the UK.

The Cell Renew Plant Infused Face Serum, for instance, is packed with natural ingredients, such as organic aloe vera, avocado, spinach, kiwi, cucumber, oat milk, rice milk, Vitamin E and C. With no additives or nasty ingredients, it works well for sensitive skin and is 100% vegan.

The Balancing Double Action Face Wash is mild yet packs a punch with organic olive and coconut oils to heal and soothe. It also contains jojoba oil, which has anti-inflammatory properties to help reduce redness caused by drying. Borage seed oil treats the redness, inflammation and moisture loss associated with dry skin. Evening primrose oil aids acne while chamomile oil calms your skin, soothing redness and irritation.

The Whipped Cream Coffee and Vanilla Body Scrub is another gem. It uses Italian ground coffee beans and vanilla pods blended into a rich cleansing butter cream, so it’s hardworking but not harsh. Use it in the shower to buff away dead skin cells – it leaves limbs feeling soft and renewed.

Perfect for travelling, the Butter Clay Melting Milk Cleansing Balm is a whipped clay and oil-based balm that gives skin a deep-cleanse and restores hydration. This is ideal for fans of double-cleansing – blended with kaolin and pink french clay to draw out impurities, the balm melts instantly into the skin with water, leaving it radiant and glowing.

The Gentle Therapy Rescue Cream is one of those do-it-all creams that is perfect for when you are on the road. The multi-use formula can be used as a face moisturiser, a hand cream, for patches of dry skin or where you need some extra TLC. It contains evening primrose to help skin retain natural moisture, borage seed oil to reduce inflammation and skin flare-ups and tamanu oil as an anti-inflammatory.

Finally, the Oat Milk Cleanser & Makeup Remover whips off make-up, even the most most stubborn waterproof mascara, and also ‘treats’ skin with natural oat and rice milk, as well as coconut oil, avocado oil and rosehip oil. With kale, spinach and vitamin C skin is left soft and hydrated.
