We can all do with some wishful thinking at the mo, and these masks, from the new Wishful skincare line from Huda Beauty, are just the thing for giving you a lift – in more ways than one!
The tightly-curated collection, so far, includes these fab targeted masks, as well as the Yo Glow Enzyme Scrub. Huda Kattan is, of course, one of the most influential women in the beauty world and this launch takes her brand one step further to beauty ‘domination’. The debut skincare range is based on a clean skincare approach, with essential products that are useful and practical – basically what we’d all want to use.

Sheet-masks, of course, are the go-to product for immediate, fast-working effectual skincare. Born from Huda’s own research over 17 years, to solve her own skincare concerns, the Thirst Trap Sheet Mask, £8, is all about boosting moisture, and therefore giving that elusive glow. The serum-soaked sheet locks in hydration with a blend of conditioning ingredients, and is infused with rose extract, to soften and soothe, aloe vera to cool and heal, sodium hyaluronate (a water-soluble salt form of hyaluronic acid) to replenish moisture levels and caffeine to re-energise skin. The result is glowing, dewy skin. Pop it on, grab a book or kick-back in a bubble bath for a touch of next-gen self-care.
The Chin Lift Sculpting Mask, £8, on the other hand, is simply genius. It works to tighten and define the jawline within 20 minutes. Skin-plumping ingredients help to define your profile while the unique lifting tape texture – a woven cotton material that mimics the elasticity of the skin – is surprisingly comfortable to wear, if not a little odd-looking. But who cares, when you see the results? For, it firms and tightens and gets rid of those hard-to-shift saggy areas under the chin.

Having seen the masks worn on women in South Korea, the ultimate place for skincare trends and innovative products, Huda wanted one for herself. Her version combines a unique combination of cooling hydrogel packed with powerful ingredients to tighten the skin. It is made of a strong lifting tape to help physically redefine the jawline. Working with Wishful’s South Korea-based lab to perfect her own formula, she wanted it to tackle not just one, but a trio of skin concerns. As a result, the mask hydrates, lifts, and sculpts, leaving you with a defined jawline in just 20 minutes.

The hero product in the range is the Yo Glow Enzyme Scrub, £34. It is a fabulous go-to treatment product to use once or twice a week. With pineapple and papaya enzymes, BHAs and AHAs, skin is left with a healthy glow.

Best of all, it is super gentle and not rough, like some scrubs can be. It has a gorgeous milky texture, which is non-abrasive, buffing away dead skin cells and impurities so skin is left smooth and deeply clean.

In short, the exfoliator gets rid of bumps and dry patches as well as evening out skin texture – simply massage in and rinse off and skin is left renewed and peachy-looking.

Meanwhile, the Faux Mink Lashes – Jade 13 – give instant star quality and will be a much-loved, essential edition to your make-up kit. They might be a tad much for padding around the house at the moment, but hold on to these for after lockdown, they will be your ‘transformative’ look once lockdown is lifted. Soft and fluttery, they give a subtle and natural effect.

These Matte & Metal Melted Shadows, £22 each, will pep up your look in an easy-peasy way. The dual-ended liquid shadow gives two options for a variation of looks. There’s a velvety matte finish on one side, and a sparkly look on the other. You can mix and match them together, layering and blending, or use individually. Long-lasting and rich in colour they are totally versatile and can blend and add shimmer for a bold or subtle look.

The metal shadows bring quick-dry properties to a high-class glitter formula ensuring a smudge-proof, shiny and sparkling finish. Lightweight and easy to apply, the paintbrush-like applicator allows for precise application to control the glitter intensity and is perfect for liner looks. The metallic formula dries down smoothly to ensure your eyeshadow look is fit for whatever fun you get up to

Finally, for a touch of everyday glam, to ramp up your ‘in-in’ look, is this gorgeous Diamond Balm, £22, – a glossy lip balm infused with the appearance of diamond dust for a super sparkly pout. It is available in six glitzy shades – Negligee, Dirty Thoughts, Seductress, Censored, Femme Fatale and Lace Panty. Saucy names and luminous lips.

This shade is Seductress, a really lovely subtle, pale pink colour with a hint of chrome-shimmer. It works to hydrate and keep lips buttery-smooth and, best of all, eminently kissable. We all need that right now.
