Welcome to Wilko’s wintery wonderland

Wilko’s ‘Traditional’ range.

I recently was lucky enough to enjoy a sneak preview of Wilko‘s Christmas offering. From the giant nutcrackers and stockings in the ‘Traditional‘ range to the gold baubles and velvet pillows in the ‘Cocktail Kisses‘ collection – there’s everything you need to bring some cheer to your home, in time for Christmas. (By the way, I like to think of Wilko as a modern-day Woolworths – it’s one of those shops you head to whether you need some random garden bits and pieces or scented laundry water; crafting supplies or brilliantly priced beauty products. If you are unsure where to go for something – head to Wilko – it basically stocks everything you need for modern living).

And, so, back to the enigmatic, gold box, tied up with a crimson ribbon, which arrived… and which was filled with some unique gifts from the shop’s key product ranges.

The magical Wilko box.

The first thing that caught my eye, inside the ‘sneak-peek’ festive hamper, was the most gorgeous pearl and bead embossed bauble, a little glimpse of the brand’s ‘Cocktail Kisses range, new for this festive season.

Such a pretty bauble.

Infusing the magic of Christmas with a sprinkling of glamour and romance, Wilko’s ‘Cocktail Kisses’ trend sees elegant baubles, jewels and foliage patterns taking centre stage, while silk-inspired fabrics, velvets, marble tones and abstract animal prints in tones of pale pink, shimmering gold and peacock blue lend a decadent yet modern feel.

Such pretty pastel tones.
Pearls, beads and sequins… oh my!

Wilko’s ‘Magical‘ trend is another key look this year for the brand. It is inspired by fairytales and mystical travels through snowy landscapes, polar bears and icy castles – all captured through frosted twigs, white wreaths, pure white feathers and sparkling crowns. Iridescent tones, icy blues, silver shades and soft pinks give this cool collection its festive edge.

How cute is this for Christmas Cards?

My pick of the bunch is this cute Letters to Santa Metal Mailbox (above) as well as the elegant, silver Reindeer Candle Holder (below), another gift in the box, and one which will have pride of place on my festive table.

The perfect table centrepiece.

Saying goodbye to 2020.

As well as marking the year we all can’t wait to end – with this porcelain 2020 bauble – Wilko also has a wide range of dinnerware (check out the gold Sparkle collection), Christmas trees (they even have a rainbow-hued tree this year) as well as cosy bedding (I’m after the grey stag print linens).

Glam stocking filler.

It’s also a one-stop shop for gift ideas – from this hanging Technic nail polish (above) – it’s the ultimate glam squad stocking filler in ‘Christmas red’ – to this Blox Santa Sleigh (below) – a great activity for the little ones for Christmas Eve.

The ultimate Christmas toy.
Burn bright… such a great gift idea.

My favourite? This Candle Advent Calendar – just such nice a nice way to light a little flame, to remember loved ones, or to add a cosy ambiance to your home each day.

Essential Christmas grub.
Hats off to Wilko!

This year, I’ll be stocking up on lots of essential, and affordable treats – like these must-have chocolate coins and a jolly hat to wear on the morning of the Big Day (even if it makes the teenagers groan). After the year we’ve all had, we deserve it, right?
