How pretty is this gorgeous Damascan Rose Petals Antioxidising & Retexturing Treatment Mask by London-based brand Avant? Flecked with Damascan Rose petals, this is a treat for the eyes and the skin and is one of those gorgeous, luxury beauty products that feels utterly indulgent.

I’ve been using this once a week for a moment of self-care or me to fully embrace and enjoy. I really like the soft jelly texture, which is rich in precious petals yet cooling on the skin. The mask works to moisturise and reduce the signs of ageing and doesn’t feel heavy or unnatural. Rather, it is light and airy, and, after just 10 minutes, it reveals a brighter complexion, leaving it looking fresh, toned and renewed.

With inclusion at the heart of the brand – Avant has a ‘Skincare to Share’ ethos – all the products are designed to be used by everyone, no matter what gender, skin type or ethnicity you are. Formulas fuse the benefits of natural ingredients with scientific formulations – research showed that many consumers want the best of both worlds. The brand also places a focus on outlining individual ingredients, for complete transparency, and, as a little extra, assigns a beauty ritual to every product, published on the packaging, so you can get the most out of it.

The Rose Petal Mask has a massage routine to follow, so skin can reap the full benefits of the product. As well as rose, it also contains Hyaluronic Acid, which boosts hydration and instantly helps improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The rose petals work to buff away dead skin cells and impurities to reveal soft, fresh and youthful skin. Its light-reflective properties aim to help illuminate skin, softening flaws and boosting radiance. In short, it’s like walking through a Middle-Eastern rose garden.

Founded by skincare professionals, Avant sought the expertise of dermatologists and skincare insiders to develop its first skincare line – Bio Activ+ – and has continued this approach when developing its extensive range of products.
“The focus was on creating non-invasive products that can be used at home but will still deliver visible results,” says Avant. “Meticulously scrutinising each ingredient that formulate our products and always standing by this blend of nature and science, our goal is to make customers feel confident in their own skin.”

Founded in Old Street, London, it also has an artisan feel to its aesthetic, reflecting this artistic corner of the city and its USP. The packaging, for instance, harnesses the importance that the brand places on ingredients – with each one printed on the front of the boxes. On the back, there is more information on how these ingredients work. A nice extra touch is the curated beauty ritual that can be found on the third side of every box. The eco box is also ticked, with packaging made from 100% recycled fibres and is 100% recyclable.

While it is at the top-end of the market (priced at £109) – it’s good to remember that a little goes a long way, and this product gives lasting results (as well as lasting a long-time). You can dip into it once a week, or once a month; either incorporate it into your weekly routine, or save it for a timely, skin-boosting treat, every now and then. It’s all about giving a rose-tinted moment as and when it suits you.
