How Aldi’s Lacura hair care lives up to the hype (and is just as good as luxury versions)

Next time you are picking up a loaf of bread in Aldi, make a detour along the beauty aisle. One of the best-kept secrets in the beauty industry is the supermarket’s genius Lacura range, which is packed with ‘dupes’ – amazing, affordable alternatives (which also actually work) of well-known luxury products (think: a Collagen Toner (just like Pixi’s); a Rose Face Mask (just like Sisley’s), or a Caviar Day Cream (just like La Prairie’s…) The list goes on.

Now, Lacura’s haircare collection is causing a similar buzz. From Professional Colour Shampoos to Mineral Clay Conditioners, the newly reformulated range has a targeted product for various ‘issues’. There are four ranges to choose from, with each featuring premium ingredients, so you can find your perfect match and the new formulations giving pricier versions a run for their money.

One of my faves is Lacura’s Oil Complex Shampoo and Conditioner, which contains six different flower essences to add shine, and soy protein to boost volume. The duo has also recently been awarded ‘Best for Softer Hair’ by the coveted Good Housekeeping Institute, so you know it is doing something right. Indeed, hair is left visibly glossier, with a soft texture and a bounce to it.

Perfect for those who have recently managed to get their first salon colour done after months away (nearly all of us, then) is the Professional Colour Shampoo and Conditioner. Shampooing restores colour and keeps your locks bright and vibrant. The conditioner is packed with Pro Vitamin B5, to keep hair healthy and in tip-top condition until your next salon appointment.

I love to feel like I am giving my hair a detox every now and then, and the Mineral Clay range, does just that. It deep cleans and purifies, but has lovely hydrating ingredients, so hair is not left ‘stringy’ and dried out. This duo is a great way to maintain and keep hair nourished and healthy. In fact, with the fact that all these products are priced at just 85p (yes, you read that right), you can afford to stock up on all of these and have a selection on rotation.

Finally, the Lacura Volume Shampoo and Conditioner ‘bigs up’ your hair like no other. Frothy suds and rich textured conditioner goes to work – Soy Protein is the hero ingredient – and hair is amplified and giving a new life. It’s time for a supermarket sweep.
