In some ways, 2021 has been harder than 2020. The winter months seemed to last so long and the last few months have been marred by ill health. This year, we had to say goodbye to loved ones too - sad times. But, looking back, there’s also been plenty of joyous experiences and light-filled, laughter-fuelled days. I’ve cherished time spent with friends and family so much more - it feels so much more precious. I’ve discovered and written about new corners of the U.K. (thank you @slhartley71) and, when foreign travel returned properly in September, I embraced it with open arms. It felt so good to get back on a plane again. Travel was temporarily and prematurely cut short for me, due to an eye op and covid 😬, but I am now out the other side, raring to go for the year ahead - thankful we are all healthy again. I’m stepping into 2022 with hope and positivity. Happy New Year to you all. Let the good times roll!

The new @panpacificlondon in the heart of the City has interiors by @yabupushelberg inspired by the nature of Singapore. There’s greenery everywhere, curves and lush textiles, heritage-inspired Singaporean cuisine, a gorgeously moody bar with a huge range of Champagnes and rums and a whole floor dedicated to wellness. You can see Delos from Mykonos and it was fascinating touring the island, known as the mythological birthplace of Apollo, where ancient ruins have been slowly excavated, over the past 22 years. It’s like a living history lesson giving you a glimpse into how people lived in the 1st Millennium BC. You can see ruined Doric temples, walk over piazzas that once were markets, sit in the old an amphitheater and view mosaics, which once lined the floors of houses.
